Your score is a weighted average of four components: Budget (35%), Waste Rate (35%), Nutrition (20%), and CO₂ Impact (10%). Only components where you have real data are included — so a brand new user isn't penalised for not having logged anything yet. The score updates in real time as you log food and purchases.
Go to Settings → Household → Invite Member and share the invite code with the other person. They need to have FoodMate installed and an account created. Once they enter the code, they'll have access to the shared pantry and waste tracking.
CO₂ estimates are based on per-category emissions factors from Poore & Nemecek (2018), as published by Our World in Data. Different food categories (meat, dairy, vegetables, etc.) have different carbon footprints per kg. The estimates are approximate — marked with a ~ throughout the app — and intended to give a meaningful relative picture of your food waste impact, not a precise measurement.
Yes. Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes your profile, all inventory, purchases, waste logs, and nutrition data from our servers. This action cannot be undone. If you have trouble with this, email us at support@foodmate.fit and we'll handle it manually within 48 hours.
Suggestions are generated from your current inventory. If items haven't been added to your pantry (via receipt scan or manual entry), the AI won't know they're available. Make sure your inventory is up to date. Suggestions also refresh every few hours — pull to refresh on the Meals tab to get a new set.
FoodMate is currently iOS only. Android support is planned — demand will determine the timeline. If you're on Android, join the waitlist so we can gauge interest.
